Kit Rashid
Kit Rashid is proud to call Asheville, NC, his home. Hailing originally from Rome, New York, he has 43 years of experience as a performer, teacher, and competitor on the highland bagpipe. He plays as a solo competitor in the professional grade of the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association, and as an instructor for the Grandfather Mountain Highlanders, the host band to the Grandfather Mountain Highland games.
For over 40 years, Kit has provided top-quality musical accompaniment for venues as varied as weddings, funerals, Kirkin' o' the Tartans, college commencements, collegiate sporting events, burning man festivals, regattas, horse races, and many other venues. In addition, Kit is a very experienced bagpiping instructor, equally at home with private students or group instruction. Put simply, piping is his vocation, and he is firmly committed to sharing the music he loves in a way that is completely inclusive and always professional.
